Whatever Means Whatever!

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. ~ Colossians 3: 15 -17

In verse 17, we see the word “Whatever”, in researching the meaning of the word “Whatever” what I found is that it means “WHATEVER”. Whatever is a BIG word… In fact, the word is so big it completely covers any and all things we do – “whether in word or deed”.

Doing “all in the name of the Lord Jesus” means bringing honor to Christ in every aspect and activity of daily living. As a Christian, we represent Christ always, wherever we go, whatever we do and whatever we say.

Be thankful for the gifts Jesus has created in us… Be thankful with passion and purpose. Being thankful allows us to worship wholeheartedly. Gratitude opens our hearts to God’s peace and enables us to live in love. If we don’t feel thankful we need to increase our thankfulness. Take an inventory of all we have… our relationships, memories, abilities, and family, as well as material possessions. Use this inventory for prayers of gratitude. Declare our thankfulness, faith and hope in prayer and celebrate God’s blessings to us.

Whatever our passion… whatever our purpose… remember, God is glorified when we come alive in the passion and purpose we were created for, and make it all for the glory of God.

Go out and make much of Jesus today with “WHATEVER” passion and purpose Jesus created you for!
